Coaching

As you strive to provide your child with the best start in life do you find yourself looking for thoughtful information, effective tools and compassionate support? Well, look no further! The purpose of my work is to assist parents and children in creating conscious, connected and balanced lives so everyone can thrive.

My commitments are to connection, communication, balance, joy, consciousness and growth. My process is based upon the principles of exploration, understanding, empathy, compassion and love. Ultimately, I aim to help people heal and grow through parenting. By guiding, educating and inspiring parents I reach toward a world where parents are more informed and supported and where babies and children are respected, loved, understood and trusted to unfold toward optimal development from the very beginning of life.

My most common client issues include:

  • Fertility challenges
  • Prenatal anxiety and ambivalence
  • Fear of childbirth
  • Preparing for a VBAC
  • Healing a traumatic birth experience (parent and child)
  • Sleep challenges
  • Excessive crying
  • Feeling overwhelmed and anxious as new parents
  • Challenging toddler behavior such as biting, hitting, excessive tantruming, etc.
  • Integrating a second child into the family
  • Dealing with anger (parent and child)
  • Parenthood/work/life balance
  • Troubleshooting school issues
  • Organizing the home for peaceful family living
  • Strengthening your relationship in the midst of new parenthood

My work is best suited for families who:

  • Are ready to do what it takes to create conscious, connected and balanced family lives.
  • Can take responsibility for their growth and show up for coaching honestly and willingly.
  • Can budget for coaching responsibly.
  • Recognize the value of investing in their family’s well being right from the beginning.
  • Can say within our conversation, “This isn’t working for me/us—let’s try something
different” or “Slow down, I need time to process.”

What informs my work?

My work is grounded in the theory and practice of prenatal and perinatal psychology. In a safe and nurturing environment I support clients as they learn, heal and grow through a combination of techniques including empathic listening, intuitive questioning, experiential exercises, somatic psychology and energy psychology. My approach is holistic and personalized for the specific needs of my clients.

Coaching Offerings:

  • In-Person and Phone Sessions – I am capable of working with families worldwide.
  • House calls in the Austin area
  • Walking Sessions around Town Lake – This is for parents in the Austin area who would like to combine coaching with physical exercise.
  • In-Home Coaching Intensives

For families who feel that their situation is extreme, I offer in-home intensives. During our time together I will come into your home, spend time interacting with and observing your family and help troubleshoot challenges while modeling tools that can create dramatic shifts in your family dynamics.

The in-home intensive consists of five phases:

(1) Preparation and review time – Prior to your session I will spend 30 minutes reviewing your intake materials and developing an initial personalized strategy based on your stated needs.

(2) 1-hour initial session – We will meet in person without your child(ren) present to discuss your current challenges and future goals.

(3) Two in-home observations – At two different times I will spend three hours in your home participating in your family’s daily activities and observing behaviors and dynamics.

(4) Two post-visit follow up sessions – After each in-home visit we will meet either on the phone or in my office to discuss my observations, to establish an action plan and to set goals.

(5) Email follow-up – In efforts to help you family succeed, I will provide you with one month of support.

Please contact me for session and package fees.

How long do my clients stay with me?

The work I do is generally not a quick fix solution, although the process often begins to yield results right away. Ideally, clients would make at least a 3-month commitment to coaching so that deep learning and permanent changes can take root in their lives. However, for a variety of reasons, duration varies. Some clients consult with me one time to get clear on a specific issue and some have been with me for years. It depends on the needs of the family.

Let’s get started!

Contact me to schedule a 20-minute complimentary getting to know each other phone call. The only way for you to know if my coaching services are right for you is for us to connect. I look forward to hearing from you!
